Seasonality of Selected Demographic Events in the Czech Republic after 1950 Abstract This thesis is focusing on seasonality of marriages, live births, induced abortions, spontaneous abortions, deaths and suicides in the Czech Republic in the period of 1950-2019. The thesis also describes several factors, which affect the seasonality of these events. The data is analyzed according to individual months in each year. Furthermore, the period is divided into decades which are described in more detail. Seasonality of live births, induced abortions and suicides is also analyzed with focus on particular day of the week. Seasonality of marriages is influenced mainly by social and cultural factors, legislations changes and traditions. The seasonality of live births is influenced by bioclimatic, energetic and social factors. The seasonality of induced abortions is influenced by the time of conception and operation of medical facilities. Seasonality of deaths is influenced by bioclimatic and sociodemographic factors. Suicides are combination of bioclimatic and social factors. Moreover, the thesis analyzes the changes in seasonality of some demographic events that happened in the pandemic year of 2020. The Rites of Passage at the courts of last Rosenbergs

Abstract. This work provides a view of the most important rites of passage at the courts of the last male members of Rosenberg family. Special attention is given to their rituals of the marriages, baptisms and funerals. These rituals and festivities associated with it were the major events of the social, spiritual, economic and political life. For baptisms and funerals their spiritual dimension is emphasized, in case of marriages their social and economic aspects seem more important. The work brings closer insight into many areas of the life of the highest Czech aristocracy at that time. Development of seasonality in typical seasonal demographic time series from 1994 to 2014

This thesis is focused on seasonality in typical demographic time series from 1994 to 2014. The aim of this thesis is to analyse seasonality in monthly time series of live births, deaths and marriages in the Czech Republic and to determine whether seasonality varies in time, whether there can be proven its rise or fall in dependence of changing human habits and traditions respectively. Each demographical process is defined by basic terms and characterized by both absolute and relative indicators. Monthly demographic time series are compared by using average seasonal indexes and further compared for years 1994, 2004 and 2014 by monthly seasonal indexes. The conclusion of this thesis is aimed on comparison of seasonality in time series of Finland and the Czech Republic.
Reproductive strategies of Czech families in the period of 1948-1989

The bachelor's thesis deals with the reproductive strategies of Czech families. Firstly the term family is defined from the point of view of several authors. Then the basic functions of family are characterized. The thesis solves the values of traditional and modern family, it's roles and it reminds the changes of the family's character, too. It also entertains the brief summary of biological, economic, psychological and social factors which influence the reproductive behavior of people. In the next part of the thesis the reproductive strategies according to Pierre Bordieu are delimited. The following chapter deals with family during the communist regime. Then the thesis introduces the reader to a family policy and with the measures that are issued by the State to support the family life (the material security of children, the newlywed loans, financial relief for the families with children etc.). The focus is especially on the description of the selected financial incentives and laws that are devoted to the influence of policy on the demografic development and the summary of marriages, natality, divorce rate and abortion during the monitored period.
Comparation of meaning of marriage and cohabitation from a historical and contemporary perspective

The comparation of marriage and cohabitation historici and The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the importance of marriage and cohabitation. It introduces the reader at a glance the meaning and formation of marriage throughout history to the present. Identifies the causes that led in the sixties to a decline in marriage and cohabitation abundant enlargement and compares the behavior of the family in the northwestern states of Europe and the Czech Republic. Trying to explain why in the Czech Republic, cohabitation enjoying popularity after 1989 and highlights the reasons why people are currently selected in no small measure precisely this form of cohabitation. The work offers a brief look at the attitude of the Catholic Church on marriage and unmarried cohabitation.
